The Ionia Girls competed at the St. Johns JV Championship Meet on Monday May 15, 2023.  As a team the girls finished second behind a tough Lansing Waverly team.  This is always an exciting meet as it gives a sneak peek as to who the up and coming athletes will be that will contribute to the varsity team in the upcoming years.  

     Individually the Ionia Girl’s Team medaled in 7 events as follows: Evelyn Jones finished 1st in the 300M Hurdles and 2nd in the 100M Hurdles.  Addy Lepien finished first in the 100M Hurdles and 2nd in the 300M Hurdles.  Sydney Estep was 4th in the 100M Dash. Jadyn Gardner was 2nd in the 400M Dash and 3rd in the High Jump. Natalie Fassett finished 1st in the Discus and 2nd in the Shot Put.  Stevie Gross was 1st in the Shot Put and 3rd in the Discus.  Stevie Gross finished 1st in the Shot Put and 3rd in Discus.  Nelly Shippy was 5th in both the Shot Put and Discus and new Comer Faith Shattuck finished 6th in the Shot Put.
