Ionia Girls Track and Field finished a close second at the Alma Panther Invitational on Saturday May 13, 2022.

     The girls made a great showing all afternoon and evening as they finished second in the 17 team meet.  Team Scoring for the Large Schools was; Alma (162.5), Ionia (160), Cadillac (144.5), Gaylord (78), Midland Bullock Creek (43), Newaygo (24), and Lansing Everett (21).

     The Ionia Girls ended with 12 PR’s and several Season Records as they closed out the “Competition Phase” of the season and head into the “Championship Phase” of the season. The boys finished with a Dual Meet record of 5-0 and have made a good showing in all of the Invitationals they competed in this season (Ionia, Shepherd, Alma). On Monday the non varsity athletes head to St. Johns for a JV Championship meet and the Bulldogs host the Region 13 Division 2 Regional Meet on Saturday May, 21st.  Field events begin at 10:00 am with Running Event Qualifying rounds and the 3200 Relay beginning at 11:30 and Running events with Finals starting at 2:00pm.
