The Ionia 8th grade girls lost their third straight home game Wednesday falling to county rival Portland 48-36. In a tight game throughout the Bulldogs held a slim 21-20 lead at the half and still led 33-30 with 4:30 left in the game. Portland then went on a 10-0 run to take control of the of the contest.. Selina Stalker scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Pyper Patterson had 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Ryelee Daugherty netted 9 points had 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bella Barr added 3 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Alexa Petersen pulled down 5 rebounds to go with 1 assist and 1 steal. The young Lady Dawgs record fell to 2-3 with the loss. They will stay home Monday when they host the Lakewood Vikings at 5:45
