LAKEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL: 26
Ionia 7th grade boys B squad opened the season with a 26-24 loss to Lakewood at Ionia. The Bulldogs jumped to a 10-1 advantage before settling for a 12-10 first half lead. The two teams played even in the third period, but Ionia was unable to hold off the Vikings being outscored 8-4 in the final stanza.
The home team was led by Evan White with 11 points 3 rebounds and 4 steals. Brighton Montgomery netted 9 points and handed out 2 assists. Ayden Brown chipped in with 2 points and 4 rebounds. Keegan Pickett added 2 points. Teric Hogan grabbed 4 rebounds and had 2 steals.
The Bulldogs will stay home for their Monday game against Lansing Catholic at 4:30
