The Ionia 8th Grade Boys A Team played hard tonight but fell to Mason 67-55. It was a struggle from the beginning for the team to get into a rhythm. They trailed at halftime 17-31. In the third, it was more of the same. But, the team never gave up. In the fourth, the Bulldogs clawed their way back into the game and cut it to 9 points. Henry Castle and Spencer Tooker provided the offense that was needed and the rest of the team provided the defense. Mason was able to hit all 7 of their free throws down the stretch and Ionia was never able to get any close. The Bulldogs end their season with a 3-3 record. Leading scorers were Henry Castle with 21 points, Spencer Tooker with 17 points, Tristan Ciganick with 9, Braylon Granger with 4, Carter Starks, and Tyson Brownell each with 2 points. Great Season Boys!
