The 8^th Grade Volleyball teams traveled to Lansing Catholic tonight to take on the Cougars. The A Team Bulldogs came out and started a little slow but quickly gained some momentum with Gena Rogers putting down two kills, Erin Steffen adding another, and Amaya Frias putting up a block. Despite their aggressive play at the net, the Lady Dawgs could not pull off the first set victory and fell short losing 11-25. Ready for vengeance in set two, Ionia hustled on the court and communicated well. Miah Wittenbach had several nice assists, Ava Bowen had 5 great digs, Ella Bouwhuis added another 3 digs and Ava Benedict helped cover her front row well. Frias had a total of 7 kills on the night while Kenadie McCoy played aggressive at the net as well and covered her middle hitter. All in all the Bulldogs fought a hard battle but couldn’t quite snag the win in the end. The Cougars defeated Ionia 22-25.
