The Ionia Freshman Volleyball team lost against Lansing Catholic the second time in the last week 20-25, and 24-26. The bulldogs had a tough time in game 1 finding enough momentum to have long rallies of points. During the second game the bulldogs came out slow but quickly caught up and tied the game. In the teens the cougars and dawgs went point for point with no one going ahead more than 1 or 2 points. The team overall covered the floor well. The front row of Shiane Boer, Danica White, Marley Piselli, and Ariana Frias combined had 14 kills. Overall the bulldogs did better from the service line in tonight’s game with minimal service errors and Avery Hoppough leading in aces. With the success of the team and Kay Clark and Cora Nummer digging balls and covering tips the 9th grade team found success. Kaya Clark and Cora Nummer were key to Bulldog success on the black line.The bulldogs then got up 24-23 points at the end of game 2 but couldn’t not finish the play to take home the win and advance to game3.and ended up losing 26-24. The Bulldogs will host a Tri on Thursday evening at 5:00.
