LANSING EASTERN HIGH SCHOOL: 0
The Ionia Girls Junior Varsity Team defeated the Lansing Eastern Softball Team in season opener at home. The final score of the first game was 15-0 and the second, 22-1. The Bulldogs attained many great hits in both games that led to the high scoring. Kaidence Thomas went 3-3 with a walk and 5-5. She also struck out 10 of the 18 batters in the first game she pitched. Following the hitting momentum in the first game was Allyson Strasser (2-3 with a walk), and Jazmin Cooper (3-3 with a walk). In the second game Liberty Stanard led to a game winner by pitching and hitting 3-3 with a walk. Emma White went 3-4 with a walk and Mariah Stokes went 2-3 with a walk. The Bulldogs home to keep this momentum going into Thursday's game at home verse Fowlerville!
