The Ionia Girls JV soccer team went against Waverly we won 4-0.

The first half the team did great, it was an even match against Waverly. Our defense with Bailey Hewett, Angie Reyes, Liz Garcia, Addie Bowne, and Carly Valera-Benavidez were able to keep the ball away and move it up and out to our midfield. Kayra Vasquez Ybarra only had to stop 3 shots on goal. The second half the team really stepped up their game! We were able to move the ball more up the middle with Kiarra Goodsell, and Addie Bowne moving it outside to Emily Anderson, Enma Rio Miravalles, Cora Nummer, and Tanya Rojas who then did quick passes to our forwards Amelia McGee, Maddie Lemke, and Makayla VanAlsburg. Without our quick movements and passing to feet Amelia McGee wouldn't haven't gotten a great shot off of a ricochet shot from Maddie Lemke that the Waverly keeper couldn't hold onto. Then again Makayla VanAlsburg had an amazing drop ball in the center to Maddie Lemke who put it in goal the 2nd time. Addie Bowne was able to get a cross ball from Maddie Lemke and get a beautiful shot in goal. And Cora Nummer sent a great ball up to Amelia McGee where she soared it over the keepers head for our final shot in goal. This was an all around great team win for the Bulldogs!!

This leaves the JV at a total of 3-0-6. Our next game is Tuesday May 7th at 5:30pm. Where we will face off against Belding, at Ionia High School on our practice fields.
