MASON HIGH SCHOOL: 113
Ionia lost to Mason 70-113 in the first home meet of the season. Our girls raced hard, and many swam events that they haven't before. Overall, we had 23 best times. Amelia McGee earned a state cut time in the 100 yard freestyle and a MISCA cut time in the 50 yard freestyle. We had six drop at least 6 seconds in their events including: Mariya Berry, Adah Drown, Kaylynn Doty, Halli Parham, Lena Cox and Addie Bowne.
Highlights from the meet include:
Isabelle Robinson took first in the 200 yard individual medley, racing hard in the last 25 to move from 3rd place and out-touch her competition by 0.63
McGee took first in the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle.
The 200 yard freestyle relay of Drown, Robinson, Ella Udell and McGee took first in an exciting race to the finish.
Ionia will travel to Hastings on Thursday for the next dual meet.
