Ionia Varsity Softball took the lead late in the game in a 6 - 2 victory over St. Johns. The Bulldogs scored 1 run in the 3rd inning, 3 runs in the 5th  and 2 runs in the 7th. St. Johns scored 1 run in the 4th and 1 run in the 5th.  Ionia Collected 10 hits in the game led by Freshman Karter Edwards going 2 for 3 and scoring one run, Londyn Brown went 2 for 4 and scored 2 runs, Rajalyaj Esquivel went 2 for 4 she hit a double and then went "YARD"  collecting 2 RBI's and she scored 2 runs. Senior Erin Groom went 2 for 4.  Junior Chloe Witter got the start and threw a complete 7 inning game allowing 2 runs on 9 hits and struck out 2. 

Game 2: Rajalyai Esquivel Throws Shutout in the 10 - 0 mercy over St. Johns. Raj threw the 5 inning game allowing 4 hits and zero runs, struck out 4 and walked one. The Bulldogs put together an almost error free game behind Esquivel, it makes the pitchers job so much easier when we just make the plays. Melayna Braman gets the walk off double to score Londyn Brown from second to seal the deal. Senior Rachel Siemen went 1 for 1 drawing 2 walks and collecting one RBI, Raj Esquivel went 2 for 3 with one walk and she scored 4 runs and she also stole 4  bases. Junior Melayna Braman went 2 for 4 scoring one run and collecting 2 RBI's, Frosh Alexias Daugherty drew 2 walks and she scored 2 runs and had one stolen base.

That puts The Bulldogs at 19 & 13 overall and 6 & 2 in the league, We host a Very Solid St. Pats Team on Tuesday the 31st. Please come out to cheer on your Ionia Softball Team on our "field of dreams" #goblue
