Two Ionia pitchers team up in shutout victory against Hastings. Melayna Braman earned the win for Ionia, she threw 3 innings allowing one hit and zero runs, striking out 5  and 0 walks. Rajalia Esquivel threw one inning in relief striking out 2 and walking one. Offensivly the Bulldogs racked up 16  hits and 15 runs in 3 innnings.  Leading in hits were Rajalia Esquivel & Melayna Braman each going 3 for 4, Karter Edwards, Kam Perry and Erin Groom each went 2 for 3. The following Bulldogs each contributed with a solid hit, Rachel Siemen, Victoria Gutierrez, Londyn Brown & Alexias Daugherty. The Bulldogs had another successful defensive night with zero errors on our way to the 15 - 0 mercy.

In the second game the Bulldog bats stayed hot as we tallied up 13 hits in the 3 inning mercy.. Ionia sophomore pitcher Victoria Gutierrez threw a perfect game earning the 15 - 0 victory. Victoria allowed zero hits, zero walks, struck out 6 and zero walks.  The Bulldogs onslaught was led by Rajalia Esquivel & Karter Edwards each going 3 for 3, Rylee King went 2 for 3, the folowing players each recorded one hit, Rachel Siemen, Victoria Gutierrez, Londyn Brown, Kam Perry and Alexia Daugherty. The Bulldogs are getting better at running the bases, Rajalia Esquivel led the way with 3 steals.

We improved to 5 & 6 and we host the Saranac Softball team tomorrow in our 8th annual "purple" cancer awareness ( Strike Out Cancer) softball games. The Ionia "field of dreams" will be packed tomoorw as the JV and Varsity teams are playing double headers and we willl have a jersey presentation at the end of the night. Please come out and help us honor and remember the Fighters, Survivors and Taken!
