Tonight opened league play for the Bulldogs as we faced a tough Eaton Rapids Team. The first game ended with Eaton Rapids winning the game 6-3, they jumped out to an early lead and we could'nt recover. Melayna Braman toed the rubber and allowed 11 hits and six runs over 7 innings, striking out 6 and 0 walks.  Offensively Ionia racked up 8 hits led by Kam Perry and Melayna Braman each going 2 for 3.

The second game turned into a Bulldog Slug Fest as we tallied up 5 dingers, 3 by Rajalia Esquivel and 2 by Melayna Braman. The Bulldogs went on to mercy Eaton Rapids 18-2, led by center fielder Rajalia Esquivel going 4 for 4, Catcher Erin Groom, Pitcher Melayna Braman and  3rd baseman Kam Perry all going 3 for 4, Victoria Gutierrez went 2 for 3, Rachel Sieman, Londyn Brown and Rylee King each contributed with solid hits.  Junior Melayna Braman toed the rubber in this game she allowed 2 runs on 5 hits striking out one.  This split puts us at 3 & 6 and we host Hasting on Thursday. I am super proud of the way the team pushed through after losing first game, they brought alot of energy to the field tonight and hopefully that continues. #goblue
