ALMA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 5
Melayna Braman threw all 7 innings and gave up 9 hits, 5 runs, 7 K's & 0 walks and she played a great defensive game. E.R. scored 2 in the first inning and were held scoreless for the next 5 innings before scoring 3 more in the 7th. Ionia's one run came in the 4th when Josie Phelps scored on a fly ball by Melayna Braman. Ionia suffered 3 errors in the 5-1 loss.
Ionia lost the next game 15-7 against a Big hitting Alma team. Sarah Bevington threw one and one third innings and gave up 8 runs on 6 hits with one K and one BB. Melayna Braman threw the next 3 and two third innings and gave up 5 hits and struck 5 out. Offense was led by Rajalia Esquivel who went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's and Michaela Castle who went yard in the 5th knocking in 2 runs. The Bulldogs need to shake off the Error Bug and get back to work on Tuesday as they host Charlotte
