The JV Baseball team opened up their season taking two on the road tonight in Saranac

Game 1

Ethan Wenzel Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Ionia Junior Varsity Bulldogs Take The Win Over Saranac

Ethan Wenzel collected three hits in three at bats, as Ionia Junior Varsity Bulldogs defeated Saranac 6-5 on Wednesday. Wenzel singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

A single by Wenzel put Ionia Junior Varsity Bulldogs on the board in the top of the first.

A single by Wenzel extended the Ionia Junior Varsity Bulldogs lead to 3-1 in the top of the second inning.

#19 stole home, which helped Saranac tie the game at three in the bottom of the third.

In the top of the fourth, Ionia Junior Varsity Bulldogs broke up the tie when Jaysen Schmid singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Noah Castillo followed to extend the lead to 6-3.

The starting pitcher went two innings, giving up five runs on four hits, striking out four and walking four.

Sprank, Wenzel, McCoy, and Alec Campbell each collected one hit for Ionia Junior Varsity Bulldogs. Emory Block, Sprank, and McCoy each drove in one run for Ionia Junior Varsity Bulldogs.
