The Ionia JV baseball team split with the East Lansing Trojans JV team tonight. The first game the Bulldogs fell behind early and lost 9-2 on costly errors throughout the game. The Bulldogs responded well in the second game winning a close one 4-3.

Trevor Hodges started on the mound throwing 4 full innings allowing 4 runs on 1 hit, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Christian Miller pitched in relief throwing 3 full innings allowing 5 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 4. The Bulldogs managed 7 hits in the game and were led by Gage Flanner with 1 hit and 2 RBI’s and Hunter Roundtree who had 1 double. Other players to secure hits in the game were Wyatt Erridge, Nolan Lundstrom, Christian Miller, Trevor Hodges, and Austin Murphy. 

Wyatt Erridge was the starting pitcher for the second game. The right hander went 4 full innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Gaven Elvert finished the game throwing 3 full innings allowing 0 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The Bulldogs managed 6 hits in the game and were led by Wyatt Erridge who went 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Gage Flanner (1), Chirstian Miller (1), and Jaxson Palmer (1) each had a hit in the game as well.  

The Bulldogs are now 16-8-1 on the season and will next play @Home vs St Johns on Wednesday May 25th @4pm
