Ionia JV baseball splits with conference opponent Charlotte Orioles tonight. The Bulldogs didn’t get the bats going till it was too late losing the first game 11-2. Then in the 2nd game the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back winning 9-2.

Trevor Hodges started the first game throwing 2 full innings giving up 5 runs on 1 hit, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Christian Miller pitched in relief throwing 3 full innings giving up 6 runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 6. The Bulldogs only managed 2 hits in the game, Carter Starks had a single, scoring once, and Hunter Roundtree had a double with 2 RBI’s. 

Wyatt Erridge was on the mound in the 2nd game and ended up pitching 4 full innings allowing 1 run on 0 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 7. Parker Seidleman ended the game pitching 1 full inning allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2. The Bulldogs managed 9 hits in this one with three different players securing multi hit games. Gage Flanner, Wyatt Erridge, and Parker Seidleman each had 2 hits a piece. Other Bulldogs to secure hits were Kolson Daugherty, Nolan Lundstrom, and Christian Miller.

The Ionia JV baseball team is 13-7-1 on the season now and will play @Lakewood on Friday May 20th @4pm
