The Ionia JV Bulldogs hosted their Home Invitational on this beautiful Saturday in April. The 4 teams present were Ionia, Saranac, Lakewood, and Coopersville. 

Ionia played Saranac in the first game of the day winning 10-3. Trevor Hodges started on the mound throwing 4 full innings with 8 strikeouts, giving up 1 hit, and 2 runs. Christian Miller pitched in relief throwing 2 innings with 4 strikeouts, giving up 1 hit, and 1 run. The Bulldogs were led at the plate by Wyatt Erridge and Gage Flanner who both had 2 hits a piece. Wyatt drove in 2 RBI’s and scored once while Gage Flanner scored 3x. Teammates Parker Seidelman, Carter Starks, and Hunter Roundtree all had 1 hit apiece. 

After winning the first game the Bulldogs played the Coopersville Broncos losing 13-0. The Bulldogs had good defense never allowing more than 4 runs in a single inning, but struggled at the plate in this one. 

Wyatt Erridge started on the mound throwing 3 full innings striking out 5 batters, giving up 3 hits, and 5 runs. Christian Miller pitched in relief, throwing 2 full innings striking out 3 batters and giving up 1 run. Gage Flanner ended the game on the mound throwing 2 full innings giving up 4 hits and 7 runs. Christian Miller secured the only hit in this one and Gage Flanner secured 2 walks. 

The Bulldogs are 4-4 on the season and will next play on Tuesday April 26th @home vs Olivet at 4pm.
