Ionia JV baseball played against the Fowlerville gladiators at home despite the windy conditions. We lost the first game 13-1, but the team showed some resilience and won the second game 12-8. 

In the first game the Bulldogs didn’t have much going for them in the first game. Batting wise Gage Flanner was the only run to come across the board; he went 1-2 at the plate with a single. Other players to contribute hits were Gaven Elvert with 2 singles, Austin Murphy with 1 single, and Wyatt Erridge with 1 single.

The 2nd game was a different story and even though Fowlerville had jumped out to an early 5-2 lead they had a big 3rd scoring 10 runs that led to the eventual winning score of 12-8. Wyatt Erridge started on the mound this game and threw 3 and 2/3rds innings with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. Gage Flanner came in relief, throwing 1 and 1/3rd of a n inning with 3 strikeouts to help secure the win. Lots of guys contributed at the plate with the biggest hit being a double from Ryan Lee that secured 2 Rbi’s and really started the big 10 run inning. Other hits are as follows Gage Flanner (2), Nolan Lundstrom (1), Christian Miller (1), Wyatt Erridge (4), Kolson Daugherty (1), Austin Murphy (2), Carter Starks (1), Trevor Hodges (1). 3 players also secured a base by being hit by a pitch tonight and should be commended for taking 1 for the team they are Nolan Lundstrom, Carter Starks, and Ryan Lee. 

Ionia JV baseball is now 3-1 on the season and will play @Eaton Rapids on Tuesday April 19th, vs the Eaton Rapids Greyhounds @4pm.
