The Ionia JV boys baseball team played their first games of the season tonight at home vs Lansing Eastern winning both games in 3 innings a piece with 15-0 mercies.

 Kolson Daugherty started on the mound in the first game and threw 2 innings giving up 0 runs and striking out 2 batters. He led the way offensively as well in the first game leading the team with 2 hits and 3 rbi’s. Other players to record hits were Wyatt Erridge with 1 hit and Hunter Roundtree with 1 hit. Lansing Eastern struggled on the mound and resulted in Ionia drawing 10 walks in the game. 

In the nightcap Parker Seidleman started on the mound throwing 2 innings, letting up 0 runs, 1 hit, and 6 strikeouts. Trevor Hodges threw the final inning letting up 0 runs and striking out 2 batters. The team was able to string together 11 hits this game, leading the way was Nolan Lundstrom who had 3 hits and 2 rbi’s. Other players to record hits were Carter Starks 1 hit, Jaxon Palmer 2 hits, Kolson Daugherty 2 hits, Ryan Lee 1 hit, and Gavin Elvert 2 hits. 

The bulldogs were aggressive throughout both games on the basepaths resulting in players grabbing an additional 30 bases off of steals or past balls. 

The JV Boys Baseball team, now 2-0 on the season,  will play again @home on Thursday April 14th vs the Fowlerville Gladiators @4:00pm in their first league matchup of the season.
