This weekend Ionia’s Boy’s Swim Team competed at the CAAC Red League Meet.  Ionia had a lot of excellent races and finished 4^th overall with a total of 278 points.  Top point earners for Ionia were Carl Goeckel with 55.56 points, Christian Martinez with 40.5, and Gabe Holman with 27.5.  Carl Goeckel finished all conferences with his 1^st place finishes in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly.  Honorable mention all-conference finishers for individual events were Gabe Holman 8^th in the 200IM, Jaxxon Thelen in the 100 backstroke, and Christian Martinez 6^th in 100 breaststroke.  Ionia also placed well in its relays with an all-conference 3^rd place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (team of Carl Goeckel, Christian, Martinez, Bodey Brownell, and Cooper Highlen) and  honorable mention all-conference 4^th place finishes in the 200 medley relay (team of Jaxxon Thelen, Christian Martinez, Carl Goeckel, and Talon Thompson) and the 400 freestyle relay (team of Copper Highlen, Talon Thompson, Gabe Holman, and Body Brownell).  Carleigh Thompson finished 6^th for diving earning her honorable mention and qualifying her for the regional diving competition.
