CHARLOTTE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 109.00
The Bulldogs competed at Charlotte this evening. Despite the 56 to 109 loss, the team is experiencing many amazing swims. "Our team is still pretty young. The swimmers navigated Christmas Vacation practices, which are a whole new experience!"
This evening Carl Goeckel was the team high point earner with taking two first places in the 200 yard individual medley (IM) and 100 yard backstroke. He was also the lead leg of both the 200 yard and 400 yard freestyle relay events. Sophomore Nick Richey turned in personal best times in both the 200 yard IM and 100 yard butterfly, as well as the freestyle relay events. Junior Estin Lyons has returned to last years racing times in his 50 and 100 yard freestyle events. Freshman Gabriel Holman competed the 200 yard freestyle event for the first time and finished in 5th place. Junior Brendin Bushee and Sophomore Chris Brown continue their inter squad battle in the both the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events. Both swimmers finished their events in the top 3, as well as, competed on the freestyle relays. Freshman Christian Martinez continues to improve times in his individual events and has become a strong member of the relays in which he competes. "Good swims were turned by all of the competitors this evening; Sally Ruehs competed the breast stroke, Jordon Masters in the 50 yard backsroke and Yadiel Villados in the sprint events as well Elijah Peterson competed in the 100 yard freestyle and backstroke events. They are working on specific parts of their events to build into a complete package by league meet in February. Everyone who competed tonight really put a lot of hard work and energy in to the meet!"
The team is 0-3 in the CAAC league and 0-4 altogether. The swimming Bulldogs travel to Lansing on Thursday January 12.
