Ionia improves to 22-11 and the regional final on Saturday. They will play at 10:00 AM vs Richland Gull Lake at Kalamazoo College.
Carter Castillo picked up another win for the Bulldogs. He pitched 6 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs (2 earned), 1 walk and 5 K's. Colt Piercefield picked up the save for Ionia, he pitched the 7th inning, 2 hits, 1 walk and 2 K's.
Once again Alex Barr stepped up in the third inning with a 3-run Homerun to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Tyson McDiarmid was 1-3 with an Rbi, Christian Miller was 1-3, Matt McCoy was 1-2 with an Rbi and Colt Piercefield and Kolson Daugherty both added hits. Kolson Daugherty made a great catch to end the game and preserve the win for Ionia.
