Game #1 

Ionia 3 Mason 1

The Mason Bulldogs came in to Frank Ciangi Memorial Field with a solid team and a 13-5 record and left with two losses.  The Ionia Bulldogs played two complete games tonight earning the sweep.  The Ionia Bulldogs improve their record to 9-5.  

Colt Piercefield got the start and earned a complete game victory.  He pitched 7 innings, giving up 1 unearned run, 4 hits, 5 walks and 5 strikeouts.  

Offensively Ionia had four hits as well.  Carter Castillo went 2-3 and an Rbi, Alex Barr and Wyatt Erridge both added hits for Ionia. 

Game #2 

Ionia 5 Mason 4 (5 innings) 

Ionia earned the sweep with a walk-off win in their final at bat.  

Parker Seidelman started for Ionia, going 2.1 innings giving up 3 runs, 2 hits, 4 walks and 1 K.  Trevor Hodges came in for relief and picked up his first win of the season, pitching 2.2 innings, 1 run, 1 hit and 1 K.  Trevor really did a nice job coming in with the bases loaded and pitching out of a tough situation.  Trevor threw 29 pitches and 22 of those were for strikes.  Really solid outing for him.  

Offensively Ionia out hit Mason 5 to 3, led by Carter Castillo who was 1-3, Colt Piercefield was 1-1, Kellan Ferguson was 1-2 with an Rbi, Ryan Lee went 1-1 with an Rbi that kept the comeback alive for Ionia, Nolan Lundstrom also added an Rbi.  Wyatt Erridge scored the winning run on a wild pitch.  Wyatt also went 1-1 with an Rbi and his first homerun of the season with a solo shot over leftfield.  

Ionia will travel to Williamston for a non-league doubleheader on Saturday, 10:00 am start time.
