Portland scored six runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat Ionia 10-4 on Tuesday.  Portland got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ionia committed an error.  Ionia made it 4-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.  

Matt McCoy and Christian Miller each collected two hits for Ionia.  McCoy, Kolson Daugherty and Miller drove in one run each for Ionia.  Alex Barr paced Ionia with two walks.  Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game.  Ionia also turned one double play in the game. Carter Castillo took the loss for Ionia.  The starting pitcher went 5.2 innings, giving up 10 runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out five and walking three. 

The second game was called in the top of the third inning with a score of Portland 5 and Ionia 4.  

Ionia is now 2-2 on the season and will play at Haslett on Thursday.
