The Bulldogs traveled to Greenville Thursday night for a non-conference match up. The Bulldogs came out strong in the tightly contested match, battling to take the first 2 sets before faltering late in the match and dropping the next 2 sets. The 5th set was back and forth with the Bulldogs leading, then dropping back before rallying late in the match to put a full team effort into closing the final set and match out 18-16.

Ionia was able to power through the marathon match with great offensive and defensive effort across the roster. Logan Thomas led the offensive attack with a career high 25 kills, while Amaya Frias added 10 and Tessa Lemke put down 7. Grace Droste paced the attack with 18 assists while Alli Shaw added 17. Behind the service line Tessa Lemke led the way with 4 aces while Droste dropped in another 2. Defense was key to converting a lot of the Bulldog's points with Alexias Daugherty leading in the back row with 30 digs while Thomas kept 22 alive and Shaw another 15 in play. Lemke led the defensive effort at the net with 4 blocks while Ireland Brown and Molly Waterman each added 1. 

The Bulldogs are now 14-6 on the season overall and host Lansing Sexton at home at 6pm for their Purple Game to honor all of the Survivors, Fighters, and Taken.
