Ionia Varsity Volleyball hosted Charlotte in their second conference match up of the season. The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick start in the first set behind strong serving and efficient passing to quickly close out the set 25-10. However, the Bulldogs were unable to carry that efficiency into the next set and despite a late game surge, dropped the 2nd set 23-25. Ionia came out in set 3 refocused and ready to play, powering through to finish 25-7. Keeping the momentum and team work flowing this time, the Bulldogs closed out the 4th set and match 25-17.

Ionia had a strong, balanced night on offense with major contributions from all hitters throughout the match. The offensive charge was led by Amaya Frias with 12 kills while Logan Thomas added 9 and Molly Waterman put down another 7. Grace Droste worked hard to keep the hitters swinging by putting up 28 assists on the night. Droste and Thomas also led from behind the service line with 3 aces each. On defense Alexias Daugherty and Thomas kept the Bulldogs in scoring position with 15 digs each while Paislie Patterson kept another 13 alive. At the net Layla Delnay and Josie Lee each had a block. The Bulldogs are now 2-0 in the CAAC White  and 13-6 overall on the season. Next Ionia travels to Greenville on Thursday at 6pm. Great work Bulldogs!
