The Ionia girls tennis team got off to a good start Wednesday night, defeating Lansing Eastern 6-2.

• 1st singles Margaret Pischea lost 6-4,6-0. 
• 2nd singles Avelin McGuire won 6-3,7-5. 
• 3rd singles Abella Woodard won 6-2,6-2, 
• 4th singles Keagan Prescott lost 6-4,7-5.
• 1st doubles Tessa Lemke and Audrey Wall won 6-1,6-2. 
• 2nd doubles Logan Thomas and Amelia Griffith won 6-2,6-0. 
• 3rd doubles Mariya Berry and Katelyn Weber won 6-1,6-1. 
• 4th doubles Camrys Robinson and Ellie Lamphere won 6-0,6-1.
   

Winning for the JV were doubles Sarah Schafer and Charly Smith, Harleigh Kruger and Aszlin Barna, Olivia Lemke and Ryley Helmes, Quin Brown and Chloe Zander, and also Sally Lamphere and Tessa Nash.

Ionia will be back in action next Wednesday when they travel to Hastings.
