The Ionia boys varsity tennis team won another league match on Wednesday defeating Eaton Rapids by a score of 7-1. First singles Cole Petersen had an impressive comeback win, losing the first set 6-4 before coming back 6-4,6-3. Second singles Owen Shippey dominated his opponent winning 6-0,6-0. Third singles Christian Miller also dominated, winning his match 6-1,6-0. Fourth singles Harper Duell kept up the singles success with a convincing 6-0,6-0 win.
First doubles Jude Gregory and Ryan Lee won a key match 6-3,7-6. Second doubles Jaxon Palmer and Riley Yokom won a tough three set match losing the first set 7-5, then coming back to win 7-5,6-3. Third doubles Riley McClintock and Mason Clark lost a tough match 6-4,6-2. Fourth doubles Myles Perrien and Nolan Lundstrom also pulled out a key match losing the first set 7-6 before winning the next two 6-4,6-2.
The Bulldogs are now 2-0 in the league and will spend Thursday and Friday preparing for this weekends Lakewood invitational.
