The first day of school brought the Mason Bulldogs to Ionia for Varsity and JV tennis. It was a tough battle and Ionia lost 3-5, however two matches went to close third set tiebreaks so just as easily could have been 5-3. Three seniors won in singles matches-Sam Eppler 1st singles, Brett Peterson 3rd singles, and Austin Currigan 4th singles. Our JV had its first match and saw a strong showing by doubles teams Mason Clark and Cole Peterson, Levi Scheid and Riley McClintock, Jude Gregory and Ryan Lee, Riley Yokum and Gavin Flanner and it was capped of with a singles match by Jake Whitney. Ionia Tennis is excited for its next match with a new opponent, Ionia travels to Cadillac High School for a duel meet on Wednesday, August 24th.
