Ionia boys Varsity tennis won their Purple match against Chesaning Varsity 7-1. They won behind the strong singles play of four year senior player Ethan Rowland (12) at fourth singles 6-0, 6-1, Third singles Brett Petersen (11) 6-1, 6-0, and Second singles Miles Gregory (11) 6-1, 6-2 and First Singles Sam Eppler (11) 6-0, 6-1. Doubles saw two flights, first doubles Landon Duell (11) and Lucas Wandell (11) and fourth Doubles Christian Miller (9) and Gavin Flanner (11) Win in Third Set Super Tie Breaks. Second doubles Jade Miller (12) and Austin Currigan (11) won in good form 6-1, 6-2. the lone loss came at third doubles and was a battle featuring Colter Clark (11) and Elijah Hatfield (11) 2-6, 1-6. Ionia Varsity Tennis plays next at Lansing Catholic Central September 20, 2021 @ 4;00pm.
