The Ionia boys varsity tennis team took 3rd at the league meet on Friday.  Sam Eppler won a league championship at 1st singles winning against Eaton Rapids 6-1,6-1 and defeating Lansing Catholic In the championship 6-2,6-0.  Brett Longanbach took 2nd at 3rd singles defeating Portland 4-6,6-3,6-4.  Jack Eppler took 3rd place at 2nd singles losing to Portland 7-5,2-6,2-6.  Miles Gregory also took 3rd at 4th singles losing to Portland 4-6,6-1,6-7 (4-7) and beating Eaton Rapids 6-0,6-1.
 

 1st doubles Collin Palmer and Brett Petersen lost both matches losing to Lansing Catholic 0-6,2-6 and losing to Eaton Rapids 6-2,3-6,2-6.  2nd doubles Colter Clark and Ben Marhofer took 3rd place losing to Lansing Catholic 3-6,2-6 and beating Eaton Rapids 6-4,4-6,7-5.  3rd doubles Landon Duell and Joel Cairns also took 3rd losing to Lansing Catholic 1-6,1-6 and defeating Eaton Rapids 6-1,6-0.  4th doubles took 3rd place losing to Lansing Catholic 2-6,3-6 and beating Eaton Rapids 6-0,6-0.   

Ionia will play in the regional on Thursday.
