The Ionia Girls' Cross Country team competed on their home course for the 2024 CAAC Jamboree number one. The course was relatively flat with some tiny hills and the weather was humid. With a total of 7 teams and 74 girls participated in the race, with our team placing 6th. Junior Carleigh Thompson led the team with a seasonal record time of 23:04.5, placing 18th. Freshman Fiona Sizemore finished in 26th place with a time of 23:59.6, while Freshman Ava Benedict placed 31st with a time of 24:28.9. The rest of the team included Emma Lange finished 59th , Dakota Badder finishing 70th, Angie Reyes finishing 73rd, and Jaelyn Reyes finishing 74th.
The Bulldogs next meet on Saturday, September 21st Calvin College for the Cougar Falcon Invite.
