Girls Varsity Cross Country vs. Saranac HS

The Ionia Girl’ Cross Country team raced their second 5K of the season on Wednesday at the Saranac Invitational. The Bulldogs had a tough day battling the heat and a hilly course, placing 9th out of 11 teams for the varsity race. Carleigh Thompson came in 48th with a time of 23:42.7. but not that far back was Fiona Sizemore 24:44.6 (63rd), Ava Benedict 26:18.1 (72th), and Emma Lange with a SR with a great time of 30:32.4).
Both JV Girl’s had a strong performance with Angie Reyes coming in 73rd with a time of 38:29.6 and Jaelyn Reyes 74th with a big PR of 41:01.5.
The Bulldogs’ next meet will be Wednesday September 4Th @ Uncle Johns Cider Mill at 6pm.
