The Ionia girls varsity basketball team lost to #2 seed Belding Wednesday night in district action by a score of 42-52. Jessa Swinehart made a three pointer to start the game, and after a quick Belding run, the bulldogs trailed the entire way. Ionia pulled within 5 points a couple of times late in the game but couldn't get any closer than that. Brynn Reams led Ionia with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Melayna Braman had 9 points and Jessa Swinehart chipped in with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Ionia ends the season 6-11.
