The Ionia girls varsity basketball team lost the league opener to Lansing Catholic Thursday night 65-30. Ionia was led by Brynn Reams with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Rajalyaj Esquivel had 6 points and 5 rebounds Melayna Braman had 5 points and 3 rebounds and Sadie Veale had 4 points. Ionia is now 0-2 on the season. Ionia plays again at home Saturday night against Greenville.
