Girls Basketball Season Comes to An End With 58-39 MHSAA District Loss

The Ionia girls varsity basketball team lost to Portland Monday night by a score of 58-39. Down by just two going into the fourth quarter the bulldogs turned the ball over against the Portland zone and couldn’t recover.

Ionia was led by Brynn Reams with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Morgan Canfield had 9 points, 2 assists and a steal. Kenzie Patrick had 5 points and Taylor Kirby had 4 points and 6 rebounds.

Ionia finishes the season with a record of 15-6.
