The Ionia girls basketball team lost their first league game Friday night against the visitors from Portland. Portland jumped ahead at the start of the game and the bulldogs could never quite recover before losing 44-30. Leading scorers for the bulldogs were Morgan Canfield with ten points and Brynn Reams with four. Ionia is now 2-1 on the year and has away games against Lakewood and Charlotte next week.
