Districts (At Portland)

Ionia 4 Eaton Rapids 1 

Carter Castillo pitched another gem for the Ionia Bulldogs.  He pitched 7 innings, 1 run (earned) 3 hits, 1 walk and 7 K's.  

Parker Seidelman started the top of the 5th inning with a double that ignited the Ionia offense.  In the first and third innings Ionia was knocking on the door with runners in scoring positon but couldn't get the big hit early on.  Parker kicked the door in.  Colt Piercefield succesfully sac bunted Parker to third base and Alex Barr (Whos was 4-4 on the night) drove in the tying run.  Alex stole second base and Christian Miller drove all line drive down the third base line to give Ionia a 2-1 lead.  Ionia would add two more runs in the top of the seventh inning.  Thats all Carter needed to give Ionia the win.  

Offensively, Ionia had 9 hits to E. Rapids 3.  Led by Alex Barr 4-4, Christian Miller 1-2 and a Rbi, Carter Catillo 1-4 and a Rbi, Wyatt Erridge, Colt Piercefield and Parker Seidelman (double) all added hits for Ionia.

The Bulldogs are now 18-11 on the season and will play Charlotte in the district semi-finals at 10:00 am in Portland.
