Congratulations to Brynn Reams and Asa Randall who were named Independent Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for February. Both student-athletes were recognized at the IHS student awards ceremony last Thursday. The award is presented to seniors based on leadership, academics, and athletics. Each student-athlete now qualifies for a chance to win the $1000 Independent Bank Student-Athlete of the Year scholarship presented on senior night to one male and one female athlete.
February Female Athlete of the Month: Brynn Reams
Mother: Jason and Tami Reams & Rob and Tricia Gregory
College: Aquinas College (will play basketball for the Saints)
Major: Nursing
Sports: Volleyball 4 yrs., Basketball 4 yrs., And Volleyball 4 yrs. Will receive the Block I award for participating in 3 sports seasons each year.
Academics: Volleyball team academic all-state junior and senior year, individual academic all-state in track, basketball and volleyball, CAAC Academic All-Conference, IHS Scholar Athlete and IHS Honor Roll student
Leadership: NHS, IAAC, PSAC, Superintendent advisory committee, and treasure of student council.
February Male Athlete of the Month: Asa Randall
Parents: Jessica Ramos
College: University of Michigan
Major: Business Administration
Sports: Football 4 yrs and Powerlifting 4yrs
Academics: HAIL Scholarship winner (full tuition to U of M), Member of 2019 Academic All-State Football Team, 2019 CAAC Scholar-Athlete, IHS Scholar Athlete, and IHS Honor Roll student.
Leadership: Member of PSAC, SSAC, SADD, Link Crew, National Honors Society, Powerlifting team captain, Chuck Kohloff Award, and RAVE Clothing Drive.
Both Brynn and Asa are not only successful in their respective sports but in the classroom as well, and serve as great role models for our younger athletes. Congratulations to both of them for being recognized as the Independent Bank female and male student-athletes of the month for January!
