Congratulations to Maddie Hanulcik and Josiah Magley who were named Independent Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for November.  Both student-athletes were recognized by Independent Bank representative Boomer Hoppough at the IHS student awards ceremony on Thursday, November 18th.  The award is presented to seniors based on leadership, academics, and athletics.  Each student-athlete now qualifies for a chance to win the $1000 Independent Bank Student-Athlete of the Year scholarship presented on senior night to one male and one female athlete.

November Female Athlete of the Month: Maddie Hanulcik

Parents: Kristen and Alex Hanulcik 

College: Undecided but planning to run XC at college next fall.

Major: Undecided but leaning towards Political Science

Sports: Cross Country and Track all 4 years, and Dance junior year.

Academics: Member of IHS National Honors Society, CAAC Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-State XC, IHS Scholar Athlete, and IHS Honor Roll student.

Leadership: Captain of the XC team, NHS President, member of SADD, Marching/Symphonic/Jazz band 2nd chair, volunteer IMS kids 3rd meal, and Founder of book club.

November Male Athlete of the Month: Josiah Magley

Parents: Darin and Deanna Magley

College: Undecided but planning to run at college next fall.

Major: Physical Therapy (Athletic Trainer)

Sports: Cross Country and Track all 4 years. 2021 Track MVP, and 2021 XC MVP

Academics: Member of IHS National Honors Society, CAAC Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-State XC, IHS Scholar Athlete, and IHS Honor Roll student.

Leadership: Top Choir, Art, Leadership Award in XC, Outreach Christian Church Sound booth/Worship Team/Youth Group.

Both Maddie and Josiah are not only successful in their respective sports but in the classroom as well, and serve as great role models for our younger athletes.  Congratulations to both of them for being recognized as the Independent Bank female and male student-athletes of the month for November!
