September Independent Bank Student-Athletes of the Month

Congratulations to Sara Bevington and Jack Eppler who were named Independent Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for September.  Both student-athletes were recognized by Independent Bank representative Boomer Hoppough at the IHS student awards ceremony on Thursday, October 8th.  The award is presented to seniors based on leadership, academics, and athletics.  Each student-athlete now qualifies for a chance to win the $1000 Independent Bank Student-Athlete of the Year scholarship presented on senior night to one male and one female athlete.

September Female Athlete of the Month: Sara Bevington

College: Undecided

Major: Health Sciences

Sports: Girls Golf 4 yrs, Girls Basketball 3 yrs, and Softball 3 yrs. Honorable mention two time MVP and All-Conference in golf.  On track to earn Block I 3 Season Athlete all 4 years recipient.

Academics: IHS National Honors Society member, CAAC Scholar Athlete, IHS Scholar Athlete, and IHS Honor Roll student.

Leadership: Student Council, NHS,  Ionia Athletic Advisory Committee, Principal's Student  Advisory Committee, Interact Club, College Ambassadors, and SADD

September Male Athlete of the Month: Jack Eppler

Major: Business or Engineering

Sports: Boys tennis 4yrs. 2020 Tennis Captain

Academics: IHS National Honors Society member, CAAC Scholar Athlete, IHS Scholar Athlete, and IHS Honor Roll student.

Leadership: NHS vice president, Ionia Athletic Advisory Committee, and Principal's Student  Advisory Committee.

Both Sara and Jack are not only successful in athletics but in the classroom as well, and serve as great role models for our younger athletes.  Congratulations to both of them for being recognized as the Independent Bank female and male student-athletes of the month for September.
