Meet our new Golf, Cheer, and Freshman Volleyball Coaches
The Ionia Athletic Department would like to welcome Rob Bevington (girls golf), Kari Jones (Sideline cheer), and Madison Geldhof (Freshman Volleyball) to our coaching staff.
Rob Bevington has lived and worked in Ionia for the past 24 years, along with his wife Jamie and two children Zac (Class of 2016) and Sara (Class of 2021). He has been an assistant coach in the girls golf program for the past two seasons, as well as the Ionia softball team. Coach Bevington says, “I will continue to promote a positive and competitive program.”

Kari Jones is an IHS Alum from the Class of 1990 and an Ionia Public Schools Elementary PE teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. She lives in Ionia with her 2 children Katie and Kyle (Class of 2023). Kari has 7 years of experience coaching high school Pom Pon, Cheer, and middle school cheer. Coach Jones plans to start practices next week Monday (7/27) and Tuesday (7/28) from 5:30-7:00 pm in the area between the tennis courts and the high school.

Madison Geldhof, is a IHS alumni and a 2020 graduate of Michigan State University, with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Law Justice and Public Policy. She brings 7 years of playing experience and 3 years as a volunteer coach to the IHS volleyball program.
Coach Geldhof says, “I am very excited to share my love for volleyball with the freshman volleyball team!”
