Congratulations to Courtney Lepien and Collin Stewart who were named Independent Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for November.  Both student-athletes were recognized at the high school student awards ceremony on Thursday, November 21st at the monthly IHS student awards ceremony.  The award is presented to seniors based on leadership, academics, and athletics. Each student-athlete now qualifies for a chance to win the Independent Bank Student-Athlete of the Year scholarship presented on senior night to one male and one female athlete.

Courtney was nominated by girls varsity swim coach Amy Fuller, who praised her for her work ethic, commitment, and leadership to the swim program the last 4 years.  Also, citing that she still holds records from her freshmen year.

Collin was nominated by varsity football coach Mike Farley.  Who talked about Collins success not only on the field but in the classroom as he has been recognized by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association as Honorable Mention Academic All-State.

Both Lepien and Stewart are not only successful in athletics but in the classroom as well, and serve as great role models for our younger athletes.  Congratulations to both of them for being recognized as the Independent Bank male and female student-athletes of the month for November.
