Ionia Boys Varsity Distance Under the Lights
On Saturday May 24th 2025, the Ionia Boys Varity Distance Team competed in the Distance Under the Lights at Houseman Field.
First event was the 1600m, Liam Thelen race a fantastic race finally reaching his goal for the season, under 5 minute mile (4:55.32). Jaxxon Thelen had another big PR 5:05.60, Xander Towery PR 5:34.18, and Cooper Highlen PR 5:35.36.
Next Race was 800m, Cooper Highlen was the only boy to race this event. He has a great race getting a new PR of 2:32.52.
Final event was the 3200m, where Jaxxon Thelen raced an outstanding race getting his goal for the season of 10:55.39. Xander Towery also ran in the event and had a great time of 11:38.19.
This meet was the last meet for the 2025 Boys Distance team.
