The Ionia girls tennis team lost a tough match against Lakewood Thursday 5-3.
First singles Avelin McGuire lost 6-4,6-3. Second singles Abella Woodard lost 6-0,6-0. Third singles Keagan Prescott lost 6-2,6-0 and fourth singles Amelia McGee lost a tough three setter 6-3, 6-7, 6-1.
First doubles Audrey Wall and Tessa Lemke won 6-2,6-4. Second doubles Amelia Griffith and Logan Thomas won 6-2,6-2. Third doubles Katelyn Weber and Mariya Berry lost 6-4,7-5. And fourth doubles Camryn Robinson and Ellie Lamphere won 7-5,6-3.
On JV Quinn Brown and Chloe Zander won 8-6.
The bulldogs will participate in the lakewood invitational this Saturday.
