Ionia Girls’ Cross Country toed the line at the Shepherd Blue Jay Invitational on Saturday, a meet with more than 100 teams in attendance. The Bulldogs raced to a 14th place finish in their division. Senior Megan Lennemann was the top finisher and medaled for the Bulldogs, crossing the finish line in 16th place out of 102 girls in a time of 20:32. Second for the Bulldogs was Clara Deeren in 48th with a season-best time of 22:00. Freshman Carleigh Thompson achieved a lifetime pr of 22:54 with her 72nd-place finish. Hannah Luttman crossed the line in 29:43 and Angie Reyes raced to a lifetime pr of 36:05. The Bulldogs will travel to Lansing’s Grand Woods Park for a CAAC White league jamboree on Tuesday.
