Congratulations to Sara Beveington, Michaela Castle, Madeline Braman, Avery Roundtree, Sadie Veale, Breann Wandel, Kyle Griffith, Branden Husted, Cody Husted, Lukas Schafer, and Tyler Walczak who were recognized by the MHSAA and Farm Bureau for achieving both academic and athletic excellence as a scholar-athlete.

These 11 seniors had to letter in a varsity sport sponsored by the MHSAA, maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA, completed a 500 word essay, and get two letters of recommendation to qualify.   Out of the hundreds of applicants, only 32 seniors across the state were awarded a $2000 scholarship.  This year Michaela Castle became the first student-athlete from Ionia High School to receive this scholarship in its 32 year history.
