In the last home meet of the season, the Ionia Girls Varsity team recognized Jenna Gould for her 4 years of swimming as a varsity swimmer.  In her years on the team, Jenna has brought a positive attitude and genuine kindness, in addition to a drive to get better in the water.  She will be missed on our team next year.

The team lost to Grand Ledge tonight 60-100, but there were some great races in the water.  Madeline McGee took first in the 200 yard individual medley and the 500 yard freestyle, both with personal best times.  There were twenty personal best times throughout the team.  Alexis Burns dropped time in the 50 yard freestyle, fighting to the finish of her race.  Brynn Lepien also had a personal best time in the 200 yard freestyle, but was narrowly outtouched by the competition.  Jules Weller dropped over 3 seconds in her 100 yard freestyle.

The girls on the team continue to improve.  They will travel to Hastings next week for their last dual meet of the season.
