Ionia Bulldogs Freshman Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Ionia Bulldogs Freshman fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-3 loss to Grand Ledge on Tuesday.  Grand Ledge scored on a single by #31, a single by #27, an error, a walk by N Terranova, and a single by A Mckennon in the first inning.

The Ionia Bulldogs Freshman struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Grand Ledge, giving up 13 runs.

Grand Ledge opened up scoring in the first inning, when #31 singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

#1 toed the rubber for Grand Ledge. The pitcher allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out six.

Dawson Leland was on the mound for Ionia Bulldogs Freshman. The pitcher went two innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out two.  Rowan Spearman and Roel Lopez entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Bryce Hoppes and Carter Ralston each managed one hit to lead Ionia Bulldogs Freshman.

Tuesday was a long day for Ionia Bulldogs Freshman, falling to Grand Ledge 11-2.

Grand Ledge got on the board in the first inning.

Ionia Bulldogs Freshman knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the first inning.

Grand Ledge pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.  In the second #25 drew a walk, scoring one run.

Grand Ledge scored three runs in the fifth inning.  Grand Ledge scored its runs on a error by #32.

#28 got the start for Grand Ledge. The hurler went two innings, allowing two runs on zero hits and striking out four.

Nolan Hart was on the pitcher's mound for Ionia Bulldogs Freshman. The pitcher allowed three hits and five runs over two innings, striking out one.  Riley Yokom and Roel Lopez entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Dawson Leland and Carter Ralston all had one hit to lead Ionia Bulldogs Freshman.

N Terranova led Grand Ledge with two hits in three at bats.  Grand Ledge tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. #12 led the way with two.

The young Bulldogs will travel Friday the 21st to Holt to take on the Rams
